To get the most out of these workouts, you’ll want to do them over the Backing Tracks, which you can purchase by clicking this link. Purchase Taming the Wild Piano Backing Tracks!
You can do the Daily Workout without the backing tracks, but it’s MUCH more fun to play along with a band. The tracks keep you motivated, so that you actually ENJOY playing scales! (Sounds impossible, but it’s true!) You can also watch Video 3 to hear the Daily Workout rhythms in action.

“Breaking Loose” in G

Now take it a step further! Here’s a more complicated variation in the key of G. This is a nice listening challenge for you: You’ll learn the melody by listening a hundred times and figuring it out on the keyboard yourself. This is great ear training! You can begin IMPROVISING at any time, well before the new melody has been mastered, as soon as you’ve figured out the 2 chords of the song. (The first chord is G; watch video 6 to see how to find the chord for the bridge. Hint: It’s the relative minor!)

Once you’ve learned the melody, you can download just the backing track, with no melody, so you can play along. (You can, of course, play the original, simpler, melody as well.) Download the no-melody backing track here: Download MP3 in the key of G
