I’m the daughter of two improvisers. My dad grew up playing the jazz clubs of Chicago, and my mom is the most facile, inventive, and prolific problem-solver who has ever lived. Jazz isn’t just a kind of music around here; it’s a way of life.

Most of my songs are love songs—if not to individual people, then to life itself.

Furthermore, I like stories. I like strange, particular, individual situations that end up saying something meaningful and universal. “The purpose of life,” Thich Nhat Hahn has said, “is to overcome the illusion of our separateness.”

There’s beauty to be found just about everywhere.

Drop me a line if you’d like to collaborate. Yay for everything.
